アメリカのコロナウィルス感染症の情報の中で、CDCという組織の名前が頻繁に出てきます。CDCは、"Center for Disease Control and Prevention"の略です。1946年にアメリカ合衆国連邦政府機関として創設されました。
アメリカ、ジョージア州アトランタにあり、主に感染症対策を行う総合研究所です。日本語にすると、「疾患管理予防センター」となるかもしれませんが、特定の日本語のタイトルが決められているわけではなく、コロナウィルス感染症の情報が多く流れる現在、「アメリカ防疫センター」と言われている場合が多いです。
