小学２年生のこの作品のタイトルが意外！そして納得！

メトロポリタン美術館で開催中の「P.S.アート2022」の注目作品をいくつかご紹介したいと思います。

今日は小学２年生の作品。タイトルに「ライオン」が付いていると思ったのですが、"Fireworks"でした！

早速、作者の動画を見てみましょう。
小学２年生が、こんなにしっかり自分の考えていることを発表できるのは、芸術面の技術だけではなく、物の見方もしっかり教えられているのだということに驚きます。

Hi, my name is Ishaq Mubin, and I live in Alden Park and I am in second grade. In my artwork, the lione is very calm, and he is funny, he doesn't mind that he is different from the other lions
And I learned moving sculptures. Plus I learned mixing colors. It enterains me a lot, and I can get more skill. And then I will be a famous artist. I want people to think about my art, and always be brave and calm and don't mind other people when they are saying mean things to you. I enjoy doing art because like, I wanna model things. They could be an artist and an engineer at the same time.

こんにちは。僕はアイザック・マビンです。アールデン・パークに住んでいます。２年生です。僕の作品のライオンは、いつも穏やかです。面白いけれど、僕のライオンは他のライオンとちがっていることを気にしてないんだ。僕は動く彫刻を習ったし、色を混ぜることも習いました。すごく面白いし、もっと上手になれると思います。そしたら、有名な芸術家になるんだ。皆には、僕の作品は人が意地悪なことをいってもいつも勇敢で穏やかなんだって思って欲しいです。僕はアートをやるのが楽しいです。芸術家やエンジニアのような、何かを作ることをやりたいと思っています。両方同時にできたらいいなと思います。

My lion is brave and calm. If you look in the lion’s eyes, you will see that he is very calm, very strong and brave. His eyes don’t look frightened. The lion is not frightened to be himself. I worked very hard on my lion portrait. I learned how to draw a lion, and I made a lot of effort to finish painting my ideas. I like to make art because I never get bored when I make art. It makes me feel energetic and creative.

僕のライオンは勇敢で穏やかです。ライオンの目を見るととても落ち着いていてとても強く勇敢であることがわかるでしょう。その目は怯えているようには見えません。ライオンは自分自身であることに怯えていないのです。僕は一生懸命ライオンの肖像画を描きました。ライオンの描き方を習い、自分のアイデアを絵にするために、すごく頑張りました。僕は作品を作るのが好きです。作品を作っていると退屈しないからです。元気でクリエイティブな気持ちになれるからです。

TEACHER:
We explored how artists create a magical reality, transforming humans, animals, and everyday objects into otherworldly entities that make an impact on the viewer. We explored the work of artists who were inspired by nature. Students discovered that artists do not always portray animals realistically; they often depict them in unique, captivating, and extraordinary ways. Students painted animals in unique ways that deviated from reality. They worked on a large scale and were encouraged to create animal portraits that would captivate the viewer with their personalities.

私たちは、芸術を創作する人たちがどのように不思議な現実を作り出し、人間や動物、日用品を別世界の存在に変えて、見る人にインパクトを与えるのかを探りました。我々は自然からインスピレーションを受けた芸術家の作品について調べました。生徒は、芸術家は必ずしも動物を写実的に描くわけではなく、しばしばユニークで人の心をとらえるような、かつ非日常的な方法で描くことを学びました。彼らは現実から逸脱したユニークな方法で動物を描きました。大きなスケールの作品に取り組み、私は個性が見る人を魅了するような動物の肖像画を制作するよう指導しました。

アイザック君の言葉に出てくる"moving sculptures"は、"kinetic sculptures"とも言われています。小学２年生で、次の動画のような、"moving sculptures"を習ったのですね。

ニューヨークには多くの芸術家がいます。そして、どんどん学校の中に入っていって、先生たちと協力しながら生徒の才能を伸ばしています。学校という枠組みを外すと、社会にはたくさんの先生がいます。子供たちの才能や可能性を伸ばすことに対して、広く多くの専門家が携わることができるのが、こうしたニューヨークの教育の取り組みに現われています。
