Welcome to ArbNet, an interactive, collaborative, international community of arboreta and tree-focused professionals. ArbNet facilitates the sharing of knowledge, experience, and other resources to help arboreta meet their institutional goals and works to raise professional standards through the ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program.

アーブネットは、樹木園(arboretaはarboretumの複数形）や木の専門家が連絡を取り合い、協力し合う国際的な団体です。アーブネットは知識や経験を共有し、樹木園として組織の目標を達成するよう尽力します。そして、アーブネット・樹木園認定プログラムを通して、専門的な水準を高めるために活動しています。

ArbNet created its Arboretum Accreditation Program to establish and share a widely recognized set of industry standards for the purpose of unifying the arboretum community. No other international program of accreditation exists that is specific to arboreta. 

アーブネットは、樹木園の繋がりを密にすることを目的にし、広く認められる業界水準を確立し共有するため、樹木園認定プログラムを作りました。

Any arboretum or public garden with a substantial focus on woody plants may apply. Accreditation is based on self-assessment and documentation of an arboretum’s level of achievement of accreditation standards, including planning, governance, number of species, staff or volunteer support, education and public programming, and tree science research and conservation. The entire program is free of charge.

林のような植栽がメインになっている樹木園やパブリックガーデンなら、どんなところでも応募できます。認定は、自己評価と認定基準に達しているかについての樹木園レベルの書類提出に基づいてなされますが、それらについては、プランニング、ガバナンス、種（しゅ）のやスタッフもしくはボランティアの数、教育プログラム、パブリックプログラム、そして樹木に関する研究と保護についての項目があります。このプログラムに関してはすべて無料です。
