トランプ大統領の100日間の動きに対して、若者が感じたこと

昨日のニューヨークタイムズの若者に向けての、「トランプ政権誕生から100日間の動向にたいして、何を感じたか？」という問いに対するコメントが今日までに70通以上届いています。

ほとんどのコメントがトランプ政権に対しての嫌悪感でした。恐怖感さえ感じているようです。今、彼らの目の前で送っている事実に強く反応しています。

First off, there is not enough space for me to express or include all that I wish to say. There is just so much to cover - so much chaos in these past 100 days.

His trade war is not strong, it's rash（軽率な）. He's trying to fight the entire world, and the world is going to win. Sure, the U.S. may be a superpower, but it cannot afford to have these higher tariffs imposed (課せられる）on it by every other country because of Trump's reciprocal（相互の）tariffs on them.

彼の貿易戦争は強いなものではなく、軽率なものです。彼は世界全体と戦おうとしていますが、世界が勝つでしょう。確かに、米国は超大国ですが、トランプが相互関税を課したがために、他の国々から高い関税を課せられる余裕はありません。

The poor quality from Air Traffic Control towers are not from DEI policies: people with mental disabilities are not employed in these positions, and being physically handicapped does not mean that you are also mentally handicapped. In actuality, they are understaffed.

航空交通管制塔の低品質はDEI（Diversity, Equity & Inclusion多様性・公平性・包括性）政策のせいではありません：精神障害のある人はこれらの職に就いていませんし、身体障害があるからといって精神障害があるわけではありません。実際、人員が不足しているのです。

トランプ大統領は、航空管制官の質の低下はDEI政策によるものだと主張しています。

DOGE just halved the staff of the Loan Programs Office, a bank that gives loans to thousands of startups on things like renewable energy and new medical technologies. THIS IS A MASSIVE MISTAKE: it essentially ends nuclear energy in America and halts technological progress because no other bank will fund them. And, if you care about money, the LPO operates at a net gain, making 5.6 billion each year.

DOGE（Department of Government Efficiency　米政府効率化省）は、再生可能エネルギーや新しい医療技術などに融資を提供する銀行であるローンプログラム事務局の職員を半減させました。これは重大な誤りです：これにより、アメリカでの原子力エネルギーは事実上終了し、技術的進歩が停止します。なぜなら、他の銀行は資金を提供しないからです。そして、お金にこだわるなら、ローンプログラム事務局は年間56億ドルの純利益を上げています。

👩DOGEは、"Department of Government Efficiency"（政府効率化省）の略称です。イーロン・マスク氏が主導しており、主に政府支出の削減や官僚機構の縮小を目的としています。

Look, our country will suffer under the policies of both the extreme Left and extreme Right: the Left will try to reform and progress too fast and end up failing economically; the Right will reverse progression in an attempt to "go back to the good ole（=old） days," ultimately encroaching on（侵害する）human rights. This presidency will test our defenses against a radical Republican administration.

見てください、私たちの国は極左と極右の政策の下で苦境に立たされます：左派は改革と進歩を急ぎすぎて経済的に失敗し、右派は「古き良き時代に戻ろう」と進歩を逆転させ、最終的に人権を侵害するでしょう。この大統領任期は、過激な共和党政権に対する私たちの防衛力を試すことになります。

👩日本で報道されるトランプ大統領の政策は、関税のものが主で、日本が直接関わっていない問題については、ほとんど報道されていないですね。
