ニューヨークのエンパイアステートビルに新しくオープンした店舗は、今までのカフェの趣きを残しつつ、レストランやバーのようなインテリアになっていて、提供するメニューも軽食ばかりではありません。

There's a lot to discuss when it comes to the new Starbucks Reserve store at the Empire State Building, which officially opens at 350 Fifth Avenue tomorrow at 9am, but what's most notable within the 23,000-square-foot space is the full-service bar and restaurant that takes over the third floor.

明日の午前9時に五番街350 に正式オープンするエンパイアステートビルのスターバックスリザーブ新店舗については、語るべきことがたくさんある。しかし、23,000平方フィートのスペース内で最も注目すべきは、3階を占めるフルサービスのバーとレストランである。

Serving a menu of foods inspired by Italian bakery Princi and created specifically for the destination, the restaurant will start offering dinner as soon as it opens with breakfast, brunch and lunch options commencing in the near future.

このレストランは、イタリアのベーカリー「プリンチ」の影響を受け、ここだけのために特別に作られたたメニューを提供し、オープンと同時にディナーの提供を開始する。近い将来は朝食、ブランチ、ランチも開始する予定だ。

As of now, patrons can expect the sorts of baked goods that are already available at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Chelsea, including sliced focaccia, avocado toast with smoked salmon and cornetti, but it's the large plates section of the menu that is meant to be the star of the show. Braised chicken cacciatore is listed alongside a dish of lasagna Bolognese, a tuna niçoise salad and a quinoa and black bean polpette order.

現時点では、お客さんたちはこの店で、すでにチェルシーのスターバックス・ロースタリーで提供されているスライスフォカッチャ、スモークサーモン入りアボカドトースト、コルネッティなど、数種類のパン料理のメニューも食べることができると期待している。。しかし、新しくオープンするこの店の主役は大皿メニューだ。ラザニア・ボロネーゼ、マグロのニースワーズサラダ、キヌアと黒豆のポルペットなどとともに、カッチャトーレ風チキンの煮込み料理が並ぶ。

Bonus points: each seating will include a complimentary tasting of the Starbucks Reserve Empire State Building Microblend, which was created specifically for the new location. It's official: Starbucks has entered the New York City restaurant game.

ボーナスポイントとして、どの席でもこの新店舗のために特別に作られたスターバックス リザーブ エンパイアステートビル マイクロブレンドの無料テイスティングができる。そしてこれは、公式発表だが、スターバックスはニューヨークのレストランに参入したということだ。

Those interested will also be able to reserve the lounge space for private events.

希望者はラウンジスペースをプライベートイベント用に予約することも可能だ。

The store's main level, on the other hand, is most reminiscent of the "average" Starbucks experience. Part of the space is devoted to a classic shopping experience, where customers can buy coffee making supplies, treats, signature blends, cups and more.

一方、この店のメインフロアは、「どこにでもある」スターバックスを最も感じさせる。スペースの一部は標準的なショッピングスペースに充てられ、コーヒーを入れるためのグッズ、お菓子、シグネチャーブレンド、カップなどを購入することができるのだ。

It should come as no surprise that, given the importance of the store's address, the chain has found ways to pay homage to history all throughout the space with hand-painted murals created by New York City-based artist and art deco style details that call out to the building's and Fifth Avenue's mercantile traditions.

（エンパイアステートビルの中という）住所の重さを考えれば、このチェーン店が空間全体を通して、ニューヨーク在住のアーティストによる手描きの壁画や、建物と五番街の商業の伝統を呼び起こすアールデコ調のディテールなどにより、歴史への敬意を払う方法を模索したことは驚くに値しない。

Whether the new Starbucks will revolutionize the city's restaurant scene is yet to be seen, but one thing is certain: the new destination is a pretty remarkable endeavor.

この新しいスターバックスがニューヨークのレストランシーンに革命を起こすかどうかはまだわからないが、ひとつだけ確かなことは、スタ-バックスが目指していることは大変な試みだということだ。

スターバックスの今回の試みは、元来のカフェの正しい方向性を示しているでしょうか。ニューヨークにはいわゆる何世代にも渡る老舗のレストランがたくさんあります。その中に参入して、しかも最も地価の高い場所にオープンするとは・・・。今後のスターバックスに注目です。
