ファイナンシャルディストリクトのマクドナルド店(160Broadway店)が閉店していました。一時はその高級感がテレビで紹介されたり、ニューヨーク市で最も利益をあげた店として有名だったりしていたのですが・・・。

その店の脇に次のようなプレートがあり、それを写真にとっていました。

In 1955, Ray. A. Kroc established McDonald's system with the highest standards of quality, service, cleanliness, and value. His vision, persistence, and leadership have guided MacDonald's from one location in Des Plaines, Illinois to the world's community restaurant.

Raymond Albert Kroc (October 5, 1902 – January 14, 1984) was an American businessman.[4][5] He purchased the fast food company McDonald's in 1961 and was its CEO from 1967 to 1973. Kroc is credited with the global expansion of McDonald's, turning it into the most successful fast food corporation in the world. Due to the company's growth under Kroc, he has also been referred to as the founder of the McDonald's Corporation. After retiring from McDonald's, he owned the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1974 until his death in 1984.

レイモンド・アルバート・クロック（Raymond Albert Kroc、1902年10月5日 - 1984年1月14日）は、アメリカ合衆国の実業家である。ファーストフード店のマクドナルドを1961年に買収し、1967年から1973年までCEOを務めた。クロックはマクドナルドを世界規模に拡大し、世界で最も成功したファストフードチェーンにしたことで、高い評価を得ている。
このことから、クロックはマクドナルドの「創業者」（ファウンダー）と呼ばれている。また、1974年に引退してから1984年に死去するまでは、メジャーリーグベースボールのサンディエゴ・パドレスのオーナーを務めた。

高速道路からマクドナルドが姿を消したことや、ブロードウェイに新しい形のマクドナルド店ができたことなどを彼が知ったらどう思うでしょう。。。
