K9 Gonja was born 8/26/19 and is a certified （認定された）Explosive Detection Canine assigned to （～に配属された）Police Officer Gehr. Officer Gehr and K9 Gonja are responsible for safeguarding all Port Authority facilities including JFK Airport, Newark Airport, LaGuardia Airport, Teterboro Airport, World Trade Center complex, Port Authority Bus Terminal, PATH Train System, Holland and Lincoln Tunnels, George Washington and Staten Island Bridges and Port Newark Ship and Cargo Terminals. K9 Gonja is trained to detect explosives in response to（～に応じて）calls for unattended （持ち主不明の）bags, vehicles, bomb threats, Presidential and Foreign Dignitary motorcade sweeps.
While off duty K9 Gonja enjoys playing fetch, going for walks and laying in the sun.
K9 Gonja was named in honor of （～に敬意を表して）P.O. Uhuru “Gonja” Houston who was killed in the line of duty on Sept. 11, 2001.
