Sure, it's expensive to live in New York but, according to the annual World's Wealthiest Cities Report from Henley & Partners, which you can read in full right here, the city is also home to the wealthiest citizenry （市民階層）in the world.

確かに、ニューヨークでの生活は高くつきますが、ここで読むことができる、ヘンリー・アンド・パートナーズが毎年発表している「世界の最も裕福な都市レポート」によると、ニューヨークは世界で最も裕福な市民が住む都市でもあります。

The annual report ranks the top 50 cities globally by millionaire and billionaire count, also tracking shifts in wealth based on prime property （優良物件）numbers, investment migration （投資移民）trends and centi-millionaire （センチミリオン---１億ドル長者）hubs.

この年次報告書では、ミリオネアおよびビリオネアの数で世界の上位50都市がランク付けされています。さらに優良物件数、投資移住の傾向、資産１億ドルの大富豪の拠点を調べて、その富の移り変わりも追跡しています。

👩"investment migration"（投資移民）とは、合法的な移民の形態で、外国などへの広義の投資に応じ与えられる市民権のようなものです。（例えば、現金の投資ばかりでなく、現地での工場建設や雇用創出などを含むプログラムに沿って投資すれば、市民権や在留資格が与えられるというものです。）

"centi-milionaire"の"centi"は、一般には100分の１（センチ）のことですが、資産に関しての、"centi-milionaire"という言い方では、"denti"は「100ミリオン」つまり、「１億ドル長者」のことになります。

We'll be honest: we're not surprised that our very own New York made it to the top of the list. 

正直に言いましょう。つまり私たちの街、ニューヨークがリストのトップにランクインしたことに驚いていないのです。

According to the survey, the city is home to 384,500 millionaires, 818 centi-millionaires (worth over $100 million each!) and 66 billionaires. Those are numbers we can't even wrap our heads around.

この調査によると、この都市には384,500人のミリオネア、818人の1億ドル超の資産家（一人につきですよ！）、そして66人のビリオネアが住んでいるとのことです。私たちの想像をはるかに超える数字です。

Three other U.S. cities are mentioned in the survey: the Bay Area at number two, Los Angeles at number five and Chicago at number ten. 

この調査では、米国の他の3都市も言及されています。2位はベイエリア、5位はロサンゼルス、10位はシカゴです。

Rounding out the top ten were global hotspots Tokyo, Japan; Singapore; London, England; Paris, France; Hong Kong; and Sydney, Australia.

その他でトップ10に入ったのは、世界的なホットスポットである東京（日本）、シンガポール、ロンドン（英国）、パリ（フランス）、香港、シドニー（オーストラリア）です。
