絵から音や声が聞こえてくる！テーマがさりげなく風景に溶け込んでいる！

10月１日から始まる、アークトーバー（建築月間）のポストカートコンテストの佳作をご紹介しています。

２作品目は、ブロードウェイのネオンの中に、さりげなく今年のテーマである、"Wish you were here"を織り交ぜた秀作です。

"Inspired by the cinematic mood of rainy NYC nights, this illustration captures the dazzling（まばゆい） chaos of Broadway, glowing marquees（入口の大きな看板）, crowded sidewalks, and the quiet poetry of strangers crossing paths. I drew it entirely on the iPad using Procreate, layering cool tones with bursts of neon to evoke（呼び起こす） contrast and emotion. The theater signs pay homage（敬意） to iconic shows while 'Wish You Were Here' adds a personal, wistful（悲しげな） layer, a postcard to both the city and someone missing from it. This is the NYC I envision（心に思い描く）: alive with stories, longing（憧れ）, and light, even in the rain."

「このイラストは、雨のニューヨークの夜の映画のような雰囲気に着想を得て描きました。ブロードウェイのまぶしい雑風景、輝く劇場看板、混雑した歩道、そしてすれ違う見知らぬ人々の静かな詩情を捉えています。プロクリエイト（というソフト）を使用したiPadでの完全なデジタル制作です。クールなトーンにネオンの閃光を重ね、コントラストと感情を呼び起こしました。劇場看板は名作への敬意であり、『Wish You Were Here（あなたと一緒にここにいたい）』は個人的な切なさを重ねています。街と、そこにいない人のへ贈るポストカードです。これは私が思い描くニューヨークなんです。つまり、ここは雨の中でも、物語と憧憬と光に満ちた、生きている街です。」

‍Malavika Madhuraj is an Architectural Designer based in New York and the founder of Lost__Lab, a visual platform that bridges architectural discourse（～論） with community engagement. With nearly 20,000 followers, Lost__Lab uses storytelling to spark design thinking across audiences. Malavika holds a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University’s GSAPP. Her work, driven by a passion for humanitarian design and social justice, has earned（獲得する） global recognition through awards, publications, and exhibitions, including at Roca Gallery in London and the Queens Museum in New York.

マラヴィカ・マドゥラジ氏はニューヨークを拠点とする建築デザイナーで、建築論と地域参加を結びつけるビジュアルプラットフォームであるLost__Labの創設者です。約2万人のフォロワーを持つLost__Labは、ストーリーテリングを通じて多様な観客層にデザイン思考を喚起しています。マラヴィカはコロンビア大学GSAPP（建築・計画・保存大学院）で建築設計学修士号を取得。人道的なデザインと社会正義への情熱に駆られた彼女の作品は、ロンドン・ロカギャラリーやニューヨーク・クイーンズ美術館での展示をはじめ、数々の受賞・出版・展示を通じて世界的に認知されています。
