NYC Culture Club and glamping resort Collective Retreats are offering a select number of artists the chance to live and work on Governors Island for free. Under the new artist residency program, six slots are available in 2022, with month-long residencies running from May to October, as first reported by Time Out New York. Preference will be given to artists from outside of the city, but all are welcome to apply.

「ニューヨーク市カルチャークラブ(NYC Culture Club)」とグランピング・リゾートの「コレクティブ・リトリーツ（Collective Retreats）」は、選ばれたアーティストにガバナーズ・アイランドで生活でき、仕事ができる機会を無償で提供します。タイムアウトニューヨークが最初に報じたように、この新しいアーティスト・レジデンシー・プログラムは、2022年では6枠用意されており、１ヶ月単位で5月から10月まで行われます。市外からのアーティストが優先されますが、誰でも応募できます。

The residency includes lodging and on-site meals. Artists will also be given a $1,000 stipend for materials and expenses, according to NYC Culture Club.

Those interested in applying for the residency can submit proposals explaining how they would use the unique qualities of Governors Island in their art. Artists are also encouraged by the Culture Club to take advantage of the Collective Retreats community and present stage performances and other installations while in residence on the island. Their art will be on view for visitors of both Collective Retreats and Governors Island.

このプログラムに応募したい人は、ガバナーズ・アイランドのユニークな特性をどのように作品に生かすかを説明したプロポーザルを提出していただきます。また、カルチャークラブは、プログラムの期間中にコレクティブ・リトリートのコミュニティを活用し、ステージパフォーマンスを披露したり、芸術作品を公開したりしていただきたいと考えています。作品は、コレクティブ・リトリートとガバナーズ・アイランドにお越しいただいた方たちに公開されます。

Collective Retreats, which opened in New York in 2019, offers guests a luxurious, camp-like experience just a few minutes from Lower Manhattan. Activities include private boats for tours of the island, scavenger hunts, lawn games, dance classes, crafting, yoga, and meditation. Menu offerings include a mix of seafood, brunch options, picnic snacks, s’mores, and more. Guest accommodations include large, Summit tents with a private en-suite bathroom and deck.

2019年にニューヨークにオープンした「コレクティブ・リトリート」は、ロウアーマンハッタンからわずか数分の場所で、キャンプのような贅沢な体験を提供するホテルです。アクティビティには、島内を巡るプライベートボート、スカベンジャーハント（ゴミ拾い）、芝生でのゲーム、ダンスクラス、クラフト、ヨガ、瞑想などがあります。食事は、シーフード、ブランチ、ピクニックスナック、スモアなど、バラエティに富んでいます。宿泊施設には、バスルームつきの個人用寝室とデッキを備えた大きなサミットテントがあります。

Governors Island is now open year-round, along with expanded ferry access. The QC Terme Spas & Resorts day spa opened its lavish doors to the public early last month within three historic buildings.
