Thanksgiving Day（感謝祭）は今月24日です。10月に入って月末のハロウィーンまでカボチャだらけだった街は、ハロウィーンパレードが終わると感謝祭のギフトの販売促進を始め、感謝祭パレードが終わると、一斉にクリスマスカラーに彩られます。こうして年末のカウントダウンまで街は休む余裕がないのです。ですから、新年はそれまでに使い果たしたエネルギーの充電期間になるのがよく分かります。

今年の感謝祭パレードは現地時間、24日午前８時半にスタートします。

Thanksgiving day is one of the few holidays stores in New York City close for. Now, not all stores will be closed, drug stores and local bodegas are open at their discretion but don’t expect to have a shopping day on 5th Avenue.
