昨日のブログでは、世界一幸せな国ランキングでしたが、今日は「長寿国」ランキングです。日本は、平均寿命が最も長い国のランキングで常にトップグループに入っていると思います。このランキングでは、どこの国がトップなのでしょうか？そして日本は何番目にランクインしているでしょう？

Curious as to where people live the longest? A new ranking has just revealed the answers, listing the top 25 countries with the highest life expectancy（寿命）.

Visual Capitalist recently revealed the top 25 countries with the highest life expectancy and if you’re from the U.S., you might not be thrilled（～がうれしい） with the results.

In 2024, the world’s average life expectancy was found to be 73 years old. Though this may sound young to you, it was even lower in 2000, when the average global life expectancy was 66. Fortunately, life expectancy has been steadily increasing over time and some countries, in particular, boast（誇る） significantly higher life expectancies than others.

Residents of Monaco have the highest life expectancy with the average male expected to live until 84.6 years old and the average female living until 88.6 years old. Averaged overall, people living in Monaco have a life expectancy of 86.5 years old.

Following behind Monaco is San Marino and Hong Kong with an average life expectancy of 85.8 years and 85.6 years. Unfortunately, the United States didn’t even make it（成功する） into the top 25 countries for the highest life expectancies.

モナコに続いて、平均寿命が 85.8 歳と 85.6 歳のサンマリノと香港がランクインしています。残念ながら、米国は平均寿命のトップ 25 にも入っておりません。

Of the 25 countries listed, 16 of them are in Europe. Canada was the only country in North America to rank within the top 25.

The study emphasizes that life expectancy is heavily tied to a country’s quality of life and overall well-being. It was further noted that most countries within the top 25 for highest life expectancy have high per-capita（一人当たりの） healthcare spending.

この研究は、寿命が国の生活の質と全体的な幸福度に深く関連していることを強調しています。さらに、最高寿命ランキングの上位25カ国中、ほとんどの国の1人当たり医療費支出が高いことが指摘されました。

If you get a closer look at the online ranking, you’ll find that women’s life expectancy tends to surpass men’s. In fact, women in the top 25 countries will outlive（～より長生きする） men by an average of four years. This division is a result of both biological and behavioral factors. Not only do newborn boys have a higher mortality rate（死亡率） than girls, women are less inclined（～の傾向がある） to “engage in high-risk behaviors as compared to men.”

オンラインランキングを詳しく見てみると、女性の平均寿命が男性を上回る傾向にあることがわかります。実際、上位25カ国の女性たちは、男性よりも平均で4年長く生きるとされています。この差は、生物学的要因と行動的要因の両方によるものです。新生児の男の子は女の子よりも死亡率が高く、さらに女性は男性に比べて「高リスクな行動に関わる傾向が低い」ためです。

今回の研究で、日本は４位で韓国とほぼ同じだと分かりました。USAやロシア。中国は、圏外です。ランキング２位のサンタマリノは消費税ゼロだそうです。
