ニューヨークは観光して買い物をしたり、レストランやカフェで楽しんだりするイメージがあると思いますが、実際ニューヨーカーにとっては、町全体が日常です。学校があり、仕事があります。その中で子供たちはどのような週末を過ごしているのでしょう？ニューヨーカー向けの、Bronx Times（ブロンクスタイムズ）の"Things to Do News"で子供たちに向けたイベント情報で分かります。

SPED Resource Fair Celebrating Special Education: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Richard Rodgers School of PS 96

特殊教育をフ讃える展示ェア：午前11時～午後2時、PS 96のリチャード・ロジャース校にて。
（注：SPEDは"special educationの略です。）

The District 11 Community Education Council, together with the NYC Public Schools District 11, are hosting their first SPED Resource fair to celebrate students and families in the District 11 schools’ communities. The event is being held to promote learning for all with a focus on special education students, and will have food and refreshments for attendees, and showcase the fun of learning for students and their families. The event will offer supportive services for all attendees to allow them to get the proper focus for their education.

第11地区コミュニティ教育協議会は、ニューヨーク市公立学校第11地区と共同で、第11地区の学校のコミュニティの生徒と家族を讃えるために、初めてのSPEDリソースフェアを開催します。このイベントは、特別支援教育を受けている生徒を中心に、すべての人の学習を促進するために開催され、参加者には食事や軽食が用意され、生徒とその家族に学習の楽しさを紹介します。このイベントでは、参加者全員が教育に力を注げるよう、サポートサービスを提供いたします。

Special Education Resource Fair

Bronx Icons Music Festival 2023: 12 p.m.-7 p.m. at Lou Gehrig Plaza
ブロンクスアイコンズ音楽祭2023：午後12時～午後7時、ルー・ゲーリッグ・プラザにて開催。

If you’re looking to indulge in entertaining high-quality music, then the Bronx Icons Music Festival is the place for you. Starting at noon and ending at 7 p.m, the Lou Gehrig Plaza will be hosting performances from eight bands, as well as a professional comedian and an up-and-coming drummer, Brandon Key. The bands included at the venue are “The Unique Band NYC,” “Working Class,” “R.I. Project,” “Cool Cat Collective,” “Lee Green,” “The Steele,” “All IZ Well” and “Mango Jam.” The event is free and parking is available on the streets nearby.

エンターテインメント性の高い上質な音楽に浸りたいなら、ブロンクス・アイコン・ミュージック・フェスティバルがおすすめです。このフェスティバルは正午から始まり、午後7時に終わり、ルー・ゲーリッグ・プラザでは、8つのバンドによるパフォーマンスのほか、プロのコメディアンで新進気鋭のドラマー、ブランドン・キーが登場します。会場には「ユニークバンドNYC」、「ワーキングクラス」、「R.I. プロジェクト」、「クールキャット・コレクティブ」、「リー・グリーン」、「ザ・スティールズ」、「マンゴージャム」などのバンドが出演します。イベントは無料で、駐車場は近隣の道路が利用できます。

Live Art Competition: 12:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. at 15 Canal Place

An art competition will be televised for all to enjoy via BronxNet in partnership with Kreate Hub. The competition will feature nine contestants creating art-based on social, cultural or economic views from New York of the Bronx. The event will be a showing of significant art pieces relevant for the times we live in, and showcase the talent of the artists on display. There will be three winners decided by the end of the event, and the winners will compete for a final prize on June 24.

ブロンクスネット（テレビ）が、（アートスタジオスペースを経営する）クリエイトハブとの協賛により、アートコンペティションをどなたでも楽しめるようテレビ放映します。ブロンクスの社会的、文化的、経済的な視点に基づいたアートを9名の参加者が制作します。このイベントは、私たちが生きている時代に関連した重要なアート作品を展示し、展示されたアーティストの才能を紹介するものであります。イベント終了日までに3名の受賞者が決定し、最終日の6月24日に優勝賞金をかけて競い合います。

Fairy House Hunt at Locust Grove: 10 a.m-5 p.m. at Locust Grove Estate
ローカストグローブで妖精の家探し：午前10時～午後5時、ローカストグローブ・エステートにて

If you’re looking for a cheap and fun event to take your children, heading to the fairy house hunt at Locust Grove Estate is a good idea. The event will feature an eye spy activity that will take children through aromatic, blooming flowers, and majestic trees. The price for admission is $10 per person and kids under 4 are granted free admission, tickets are required, and limited so make sure to purchase tickets in advance.

お子様を連れていける、安くて楽しいイベントをお探しなら、ローカスト・グローブ・エステートのフェアリー・ハウス・ハントに行くのがおすすめです。このイベントでは、香り高く咲き誇る花や雄大な木々の中を、子どもたちがあちこちに目をやって情報を得ながら進むアクティビティが用意されています。入場料は1人10ドルで、4歳以下の子供は入場無料です。チケットが必要で、数に限りがありますので、事前にチケットを購入してください。

WBGO’s Kids Jazz Concert Series presented in conjunction with The Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation are hosting an event to honor and showcase music by Louis Armstrong and the connection the music has with Latin music. The performances at the venue include Bobby Sanabria Multiverse Big Band featuring Antoinette Montague, Janis Siegel and Jennifer Jade Ledesna. The concert is free and open to the public. Adults must be accompanied by at least one child.

（ラジオ局の）WBGOの「キッズジャズコンサートシリーズ」は、ルイ・アームストロング教育基金と共同で、ルイ・アームストロングの音楽と、その音楽が持つラテン音楽とのつながりを称え、紹介するイベントを開催しています。会場では、アントワネット・モンタギュー、ジャニス・シーゲル、ジェニファー・ジェイド・レデスナが特別出演するボビー・サナブリア・マルチバース・ビッグ・バンドが演奏します。コンサートは無料で一般に公開されます。大人の方は、お子様1名以上の同伴が必要です。
