「クリスティーズ」って聞いたことがありますか？

"Christie's"と所有格になってますが、創立者のJames Christie（ジェームズ・クリスティー）さんの、オークションハウス、"Christie's auction house"の、"auction house"がとれた形です。1766年に創立されたオークションハウスで、本店はロンドンですが、ニューヨークのロックフェラーセンターにもあります。

Although the Museum of Natural History is a renowned pitstop for dinosaur enthusiasts, it's getting some fierce competition from Christie's—at least this month.

The auction house will offer "one of the largest, most complete and widely studied Tyrannosaurus rex skeletons ever discovered" for roughly $6–$8 million, according to a press release. T. rex roamed Earth 67 million years ago. Now, Stan is on display at the auction house’s flagship in New York City. Stan is named for the scientist, Stan Sacrison, who first discovered the dino's remains on Hell Creek Formation in 1987.
