New Yorkers woke up to their first snowfall of the season on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022. More than seven inches of thick snow blanketed New York City and the Tri-State area overnight. Despite the snowfall, New York City schools remained open as new Mayor Eric Adams said city was prepped and prepared for snow.
