単語の覚え方とテストの仕方が全く違う！カギは生徒が楽しむこと！

記事に出てくる"new words"を暗記してテストを受けるものではありません。
「よく出る単語〇〇選」を出しているのでもありません。

今日は、昨日に引き続いて、４～９をご紹介します。内容によっては、詳しい説明をはぶいているものがあります。

4. Turn to TikTok to learn commonly confused words.
ティックトックを使って、よく混同する単語を学びましょう。

Differentiate between similar-sounding words with the help of Claudine James, an English teacher and member of our first Teaching Project cohort, and her popular TikTok account. This piece pairs five of her videos explaining commonly confused words, like farther and further or affect and effect, with usage examples from The New York Times.

5. Get familiar with “high utility” words in multiple contexts.
複数の文脈で「実用性の高い」言葉に慣れる。

Whether preparing for a standardized test like the SAT or just reading for fun, you have no doubt come across words like assume, consist, potential, component and ultimate — words that appear in many contexts and with shifting meanings.

8. Make vocabulary practice routine with our monthly challenges.
ニューヨークタイムズで毎月チャレンジできる単語練習を習慣化しよう。

We received such an enthusiastic response to our Vocabulary Challenges last year that we created a yearlong schedule of monthly activities to help students get creative with vocabulary — and have the opportunity for their work to be published on The Learning Network.

昨年実施した「ボキャブラリー・チャレンジ」が大変好評だったため、1年間にわたり、毎月、生徒がボキャブラリーを使って創造的に学習し、その成果を「ラーニング・ネットワーク」で発表する機会を作りました。

These challenges use our Words of the Day as prompts for writing, art and even the invention of new words. New challenges open on the first of each month all year long, but you can use these activities in your classroom anytime.

ここでは「今日の単語」が、文章を書いたり、絵を描いたり、新しい言葉を生み出したりするためのプロンプト（行動を促す材料）として使用されます。新しいチャレンジは一年中、毎月1日に始まりますが、これらのアクティビティをいつでも教室で使うことができます。
