2020 has been scary enough, but we're throwing the spookiness into high gear with events for Halloween in NYC. Typically, October is filled with costumed parties, jump scares at haunted houses, corn mazes and parades, but this year will be a little different. For one, the Village Halloween Parade is canceled, and it's likely most of the city's regularly scheduled scary haunts will be as well given the current pandemic. That being said, there are still quite a few things still taking place, and with Halloween (finally) taking place on a Saturday, it'll be easier to celebrate. Don't bother breaking out your sewing kit, New York's greatest Halloween stores have plenty of options to make you look really spooky. Make sure to check out our NYC events in October too for even more activities to finish off the month in killer spirits.

2020年自体が怖かったですねー。でも私たちはニューヨークシティで行われるハロウィンイベントで盛り上がってその気味悪さを吹っ飛ばしちゃいますよ。10月って、仮装パーティーや、ホーンテッドハウスでの飛び上がるような恐怖、トウモロコシ畑の迷路、パレードが定番ですね。でも、今年はちょっと趣向が違いますよ。一つには、「ヴィレッジ・ハロウィンパレード」が中止になって、ほとんどのいつも行なわれる怖い催しまで、新型コロナウィルスに持っていかれちゃうよみたい、なんて言われてますけど、まだまだやることは一杯ありますよ。実際土曜日のハロウィンだってついに明日やってくるんですから、お祝いは思ったより簡単よ。衣装を縫うキットをあわてて使うことはないわ。ニューヨークの最高のハロウィンストアにはすごく気味悪くなれる材料がいっぱいですよ。10月のNYCのイベントをチェックしてキラースピリットで10月を終えるために今までにまして多いアクティビティーをチェックするのを忘れないで！

Village Halloween mini-parade and spider sighting

ヴィレッジ・ハロウィンのミニパレードとスパイダーの出現

The spirit of Halloween isn't dead—it's dangling off the side of the Jefferson Market Library Tower.

On Halloween night, from 7pm to 10pm, a giant, sparkly spider will be hanging off the tower as it does each year during the Village Halloween Parade. The parade is canceled this year, but the spider will still make an appearance.While the parade is canceled, organizers are bringing a mini-parade to those of us at home. At noon on Saturday, halloween-nyc.com will stream the 15-minute baby parade featuring toy-sized puppets and tiny floats that'll pass by NYC's iconic buildings.

ジェファーソン・マーケット・ライブラリータワーから大きなクモがぶら下がります。

午後７時から10時まで。毎年ヴィレッジ・ハロウィンパレードの間中ぶら下がっていたクモは、今年のパレードは中止になってもクモは出現します。

土曜日の正午はミニパレード。15分だけだけど、おもちゃサイズのパペットと小さなフロートが街中の有名な建物を通ります。

SoHo Trick-or-Treat Takeover

A handful of local businesses are taking part in a SoHo Trick-or-Treat Takeover on Friday, October 30. Between 11am and 6pm, shoppers and New Yorkers can trick-or-treat for candy at booths and try for raffle prizes from Sephora, Breads Bakery, NOMO SoHo, Hugo Boss, Maman, The Museum of Ice Cream, Housing Works, Levi’s, and more. Just register online for the chance to win amazing prizes, including a $500 shopping spree at HUGO BOSS, dinner for two and a night’s stay at NoMo SoHo Hotel, and others.

Coney Island virtual Halloween costume contest

Dress up in your best costume and submit photos to Coney Island's virtual Halloween costume contest now through October 28. Children and adults are invited to participate either by dressing up or simply voting for their favorite costumes. The top 3 highest rated photos will receive four tickets to a Brooklyn Cyclones game, Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park, Luna Park in Coney Island, meal vouchers for Nathan's Famous, and enjoy a $25 gift card to the boardwalk's newest eatery, La Tombola, all for the 2021 season.

You can vote up until Halloween night at 11:59 pm. Winners of the contest will be announced on Monday, November 2.

Pumpkin carving & trick-or-treating at Chelsea Market

Chelsea Market will be a hive of Halloween activity this year with live pumpkin carving by the Maniac Pumpkin Carvers on Thursday, from 10am to 4pm. Then on Saturday, vendors will be handing out treats all day.

チェルシーマーケットは、ハロウィンの催しで一杯です。木曜日、午前10時から午後４時まで、パンプキンカービングのライブがあるし、土曜日は一日中おやつがもらえます。

The storyteller, mind reader and variety performer Mister Dusty Rose teams with director Monica Blaze Leavitt and immersive-theater creator Anthony Logan Cole for a live, socially-distanced night of old-fashioned ghost stories, performed site-specifically at the current SoHo outpost of the traveling Museum of Interesting Things. Admission is capped at 35 masked spectators per performance; the $50 ticket price includes preshow access to the museum’s collections of spiritualist curios as well as a postshow reception.

怪奇物語のライブがあります。35人まで。マスク要。チケットは50ドル。ライブの前には美術館所蔵品の鑑賞ができ、終了後は打ち上げにも参加できます。
