ニューヨーク市は、学校閉鎖の後、リモートラーニングに移行しています。驚くのは、とても数日で出来なかったであろう準備です。

The New York City Department of Education offers free breakfast, lunch and afterschool meals to all NYC public school students during the school year.

Grab and Go breakfast and lunch are available at the entrance of all DOE school buildings.

The materials on the Learn at Home pages are designed to provide supplementary learning resources to students in the event that students may need to be home from school. We encourage you to use this time to continue your student’s learning while they are at home. To help students engage in educational material, we have shared the resources below for students in all grades, from Early Learn through elementary and middle school, and for high school. These materials do not replace what your child has been learning at school, but during this unusual time it is important that students continue to read, write, do social studies and science activities, and work on math problems.
ラーンアットホーム（自宅学習）のページにある教材は、生徒が家にいなければならないときの補助教材として（教育局が）指定するものです。自宅学習の際に、これらの資料を使って学習時間が途切れることなく子供たちが学べるようにしてください。取り組みやすいよう、この資料を次に示したすべて（幼児期教育から小学校、中学校そして高校）の生徒向き資料を公開いたします。これらの資料は子供たちが学校で学んで来ているものに代わるものではありませんが、この緊急時に生徒が読み、書き、社会を学び、科学的な活動を行い、数学の問題に取り組むことは大切なことなのです。

The DOE has created student accounts for every single New York City public school student. The account gives your child access to Google Classroom and Microsoft Office 365. 
DOE(Department Of Education教育局)は、ニューヨーク市の公立学校の生徒一人ひとりにアカウントを作りました。そのアカウントを使ってグーグル教室とマイクロソフト・オフィス365にアクセスすることができます。

あらゆる年齢の生徒が、クリックひとつで必要な資料を入手できるようになっています。９年生(Nineth Grade)から12年生（12th Grade)までは、"High School"の中に入っています。
日本の制度の中学３年生は、アメリカでは高校１年生ということで、高校は４年間といった扱いです。小・中のはっきりした境がなく、一貫して8年生まであり、その後４年間、High School Studentsとなっています。

デブラシオ市長は、閉鎖しないことにこだわっていましたが、その一方で、教育局と連携して、こういう準備もしていたのだと思うと、日本の状況がいかに準備不足であったかを思い知らされます。

明日から、どんな課題なのか、何を学ぶのかを、一部ですがお伝えしようと思います。
