Now that NYC schools have been open for roughly one month, the DOE has made an update to its 2020-2021 grading policy.

ニューヨーク市の学校が再開しておよそ１か月経ちました。教育局（Department Of Education---教育局）は2020-2021年度の成績決定の指針の見直しをしました。

According to a press release, students are going to be assessed based on their performance and progress. These grades will reflect a child's understanding of the subject matter at a specific time. Essentially, this means that there will be changes to the norm, much like what happened during the spring 2020 semester.

報道によると、生徒の成績は実績と進度によって評価されます。この成績のつけ方では、子供が一定の時間でその学科の重要な部分を理解しているかが問題になります。特に、2020年春学期については、標準レベルの変更があるでしょう。

Here's what each grade can expect, according to the NYC DOE:
3K & Pre-K: No change because students do not receive report cards or grades.

次に示すのは、ニューヨーク市の教育局による、各学年での評価について求められる内容です。
３歳児と幼稚園入園前まで：成績票や評定がないので変更はありません。

K – 5th: Schools select their grading scales for marking period and final grades. Students will receive grades of “needs improvement” (N) in place of failing grades. Parents/guardians may choose to have any passing grade updated to a passing grade of “meets standards” (MT).

幼稚園～５年生まで：学校が採点期間と最終的な成績の基準を決めます。（今までの）落第の代わりには、「改善が必要」（N）と評価されます。新たに「標準に達している」(MT)と書いてあれば、「合格」と判断して構いません。

6th – 8th: Schools select their grading scales for marking period and final grades. Students will receive grades of “course in progress” (NX) in place of failing grades. Parents/guardians may choose to have any passing grade updated to “pass” (P). Grades of “P” will not be factored into students’ GPAs.

６年生～８年生まで：学校が採点期間と最終的な成績の基準を決めます。「課程未終了」（NX)と書かれていれば従来の落第のことです。「P」と書かれていれば保護者は、「合格」（P)と判断して構いません。「P」評価は、生徒のGPAに関係するものではありません。
（注：GPAは、"grade point average"の略で、その生徒の成績平均点のことです。）

9th – 12th: Schools select their grading scales for marking period and final grades. Students will receive grades of “course in progress” (NX) in place of failing grades. Parents/guardians may choose to have any passing grade updated to a passing grade of “credit” (CR). Grades of “CR” will not be factored into students’ GPAs.

９年生～12年生まで：学校が採点期間と最終的な成績の基準を決めます。「課程未終了」（NX)と書かれていれば従来の落第のことです。「単位取得」(CR)と書かれていれば、その生徒は「単位を取得をした」と判断して構いません。「CR」は生徒のGPAに関係するものではありません。
