ニューヨークで年末年始を楽しむのは、ロックフェラーセンターの巨大なクリスマスツリーを見たり、タイムズスクェアのカウントダウンに参加したりするばかりではありません。

Holiday Lights at the Bronx Zoo
ブロンクス動物園のホリデイライト

November 19–January 9
The Bronx Zoo is one of New York City’s most famous attractions for kids, but during the holidays things get a little brighter. When the live animals turn in for the night, the zoo lights up for visitors with over 250 animal-shaped lanterns and sculptures. Displays include safaris and journeys from different regions of the globe; a forest lit up with insects, amphibians and plants; costumed characters; and ice sculptures. You can also enjoy roast marshmallows and s’mores.

ブロンクス動物園は、ニューヨークで最も子供に人気のある場所の一つですが、ホリデーシーズンになると、もう少し明るくなります。生きている動物たちは夜になると寝床に付きますが、動物園では250以上の動物の形をしたランタンや彫刻がライトアップされます。サファリや地球上のあちこちの地域からの旅が映し出されるのです。森では昆虫や両生類、植物、コスチュームを着たキャラクター、氷の彫刻などがライトアップされます。また、焼いたマシュマロやスモアも楽しめますよ。

Dedicated to empowering BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and women business owners, as well as those from other underrepresented groups, the Makers Show hosts a holiday marketplace at City Point in Brooklyn. With vendors selling apparel, home goods, food, beverages, art, beauty, jewelry and other accessories, holiday shoppers are sure to find gifts and stocking stuffers for their loved ones while simultaneously supporting the creative entrepreneurs that give New York City its appeal.

11月26日～12月19日の金・土・日曜日、12月20日～23日の毎日開催

メイカーズショウは、BIPOC、LGBTQ+、女性の経営者や、その他の恵まれないグループの人々を支援するために、ブルックリンのシティポイントでホリデーマーケットを開催しています。アパレル、家庭用品、食品、飲料、アート、美容、ジュエリー、その他のアクセサリーなどの店が出て、ホリデーシーズンの買い物客は、大切な人への贈り物や買い置きグッズを見つけることができると同時に、ニューヨークを魅力的にするクリエイティブな起業家たちの支援にもなります。

感謝祭の週の金曜日は「ブラックフライデイ」で、多くの買い物客が年に一度の大幅値引きを狙って繁華街に繰り出すのですが、同じ週の土曜日は、小さな商店を支援する「スモールビジネス・サタデイ」で、そこには、"Shop Small"（小さく買おう）と書かれていました。

Shopping is one of the season’s most enjoyable pastimes, and Bank of America’s Winter Village at Bryant Park is a great way to find distinctive gifts for your loved ones. Located in Bryant Park, this collection of pop-ups is arranged as a European-inspired open-air market, with each of the shops housed in its own little kiosk. The market lines a 17,000-square-foot skating rink, which is free (skate rental extra) and open to the public.

Broadway Under the Stars at the Shops at Columbus Circle

An ongoing collaboration between Broadway and the high-end Shops at Columbus Circle, Broadway Under the Stars is a free must-see during the holiday season. This multi-week series of truncated performances features cast members from popular Broadway musicals such as Chicago, Moulin Rouge and The Phantom of the Opera belting out the hits. Consider these early evening musical interludes a wonderful accompaniment to shopping. Round out the experience with dinner at one of the Shops’ many fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants.

ブロードウェイと高級品を扱う「ショップス・アット・コロンバス・サークル」のコラボレーションによる「ブロードウェイ・アンダー・ザ・スターズ」は、ホリデーシーズンに必見の無料イベントです。この数週間にわたる小公演では、「シカゴ」、「ムーランルージュ」、「オペラ座の怪人」など、人気のブロードウェイミュージカルの出演者が、ヒット曲を歌い上げます。ショッピングをしながら、夕方のひとときを楽しんでみてはいかがでしょうか。ショッピングの後は、そこに出店しているミシュランの星付きレストランでのディナーをお楽しみください。

NYC Winter Farm Festival

November 25–January 9
The Queens County Farm Museum is all aglow during the holidays as the NYC Winter Lantern Festival illuminates its grounds with holiday lights and handmade lanterns in the shapes of flowers, farm animals and other location-appropriate objects. This year guests will be able to pick and decorate their own wish lantern to bring home as a memento. Take advantage of this display for fun family photos or to spruce up your social media channels.

クイーンズカウンティーファームミュージアムはホリデイシーズン中輝いています。ニューヨーク・ウィンター・ランタンフェスティバルでは、ホリデーライトが施され、花や動物やファームならではの物の形をした手作りのランタンが飾られているからです。今年は、自分の好きなランタンを選んでデコレーションし、記念に持ち帰ることができます。ご家族での記念撮影や、ソーシャルメディアの飾りに使ったりしてみてください。

A whimsical array of light sculptures and installations brightens the dark winter nights at this festival at the Queens County Farm Museum in Little Neck. LED lights, Chinese lanterns and string lights can be seen at this winter wonderland for all ages. This year’s theme is Illuminate the Farm and will include light-up tractors, impressively tall animal-shaped lanterns and LED flowers.

リトルネックにあるクィーンズ・カウンディーファーム博物館で開催されるこのフェスティバルでは、一風変わったたくさんの光の彫刻や装置の数々が暗い冬の夜を明るく照らしています。LEDライト、チャイニーズランタン、ストリングライトなど、あらゆる年齢層の方が楽しめる冬のワンダーランドです。今年のテーマは「農場を光で満たそう」で、ライトアップされたトラクター、かなり背の高い動物のランタン、LEDの花などがあります。

This dazzling display illuminates Snug Harbor with acres of lights, numerous food vendors, a DJ, gift shop and more. (Just like at the Queens County Farm Museum, wish lanterns are also available.) Outside of the NYC Winter Lantern Festival, Snug Harbor has plenty of other attractions on offer, including museums and botanical gardens.
