セントラルパークは？活動停止でわかる、いつも公園でやっていること。

ニューヨークの最も有名なセントラルパークでは、今あちこちで花が咲いています。しかし、コロナウィルスの影響は市全体に及んでおり、デブラシオ市長が最も重要視している、「教育」、「交通」、「医療」が危機に瀕している状況です。

そんな中、マンハッタンの公園の現在の状態を見ます。

セントラルパークの保護団体が出しているページを見ると、まずこの注意書きが目に入ります。

ご注意：セントラルパークは開いていますが、いくつかのプログラムが停止しています。

Coronavirus Update 　　セントラルパーク最新情報

Our Central Park Conservancy staff remains committed to caring for the Park. We are diligently cleaning and conducting routine maintenance of landscapes, water bodies, and benches in order to keep the Park open as a place of solace — while practicing social distancing — during this crucial time.

The Conservancy continues to monitor the shifting developments of COVID-19 in New York City.
セントラルパーク保護団体スタッフは公園のケアに全力を注いでいます。今大変な時期ですが、（人との間隔をとって）憩いの場所になるよう、一生懸命に毎日清掃をしたり、景観や池やベンチの手入れをしたりして、公園を開け続けています。
保護協会は引き続きニューヨーク市のコロナウィルスの拡大の推移を注視してまいります。

Per the latest guidance from Governor Cuomo, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the NYC Department of Parks, the following activities are suspended until further notice in Central Park:
クオモ州知事、防疫センター、ニューヨーク公園管理局からの最新のガイドラインによって、次の活動はセントラルパークからお知らせがあるまで停止とします。

Sports and group recreation such as basketball, football, softball, and soccer
バスケットボール、フットボール、ソフトボール、サッカーのような団体で行うスポーツやリクリエーション

Public gatherings are banned in all NYC public parks through April 12, 2020

While staying indoors is critical, if you must get air or walk your dog, Central Park’s lawns have been reopened to assist with the needed social distancing and for passive solitary use only. Spend just a few minutes outside, and keep at least 6 feet from others.
外出しないことが重要なのですが、外の空気を吸ったり、犬を散歩させたりしなくてはならないときもあるので、公園内の芝生地を再開いたしました。この場合は、必要な距離を保って、個人で静かに利用していただくことにご協力ください。外出は数分、そして他の人との距離は最低６フィートを保ってください。

The Great Lawn, Sheep Meadow, North Meadow, and East Meadow are open now for passive use only.
「グレイトローン」、「シープメドウ」、「ノースメドウ」、「イーストメドウ」は現在お使いいただけますが、静かにお過ごしいただける場合のみです。

Central Park remains open to the public. However, to mitigate the spread of the virus and in alignment with recommendations from public health officials, all visitor centers are closed.
セントラルパークは閉鎖しておりませんが、ウィルスの拡散を減らし、保健局の指導に沿う形で、すべてのビジターセンターを閉鎖しております。

"pitch in"という言葉の意味は、
"to join others and help with an activity"「「みんなでやる活動に参加する」ということです。「少しずつお金を出し合う」という場合にも使えます。
"Pitch in, Pick up"は、みんなでやる美化活動で、いわゆる「ごみ拾い」のことです。
