Important Parks Department Service Changes Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The World Health Organization has declared the COVID-19 disease, known as the coronavirus, a pandemic. During this time, we ask that all park goers use additional precautions to protect their health and safety and that of those around them.
WHO（The World Health Organization---世界保健機構)は、コロナウィルスとして知られるCOVID-19疾病をパンデミックと宣言しました。この期間中、我々はすべての公園利用者にご自分と、周りの方々の健康と安全を守るため、さらなるに予防措置を講じることを要請いたします。

At this time, City parks and playgrounds are open. We ask that all park goers take extra precautions to stay healthy and safe. While solo exercise is okay, team sports (such as basketball, football, softball, and soccer) are not permitted in our parks at this time. Please maintain at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and others when outside and avoid congregating in groups.
この時期ですが、市の公園と遊び場は閉鎖しません。我々は公園に行く方々全員に健康と安全のための特別の予防措置をお願いします。お一人で運動するのは問題ありませんが、チームで行うスポーツ（たとえばバスケットボール、フットボール、ソフトボール、サッカー）は、今の時期、公園で行うことは禁止です。どうか屋外ではご自分と他の方との距離を少なくとも６フィート保ってください。そして集まってグループになることは避けてください。

Our park restrooms are open. We are cleaning our restrooms daily with appropriate cleaning products to ensure that they are being fully disinfected.

Cherry Trees

NYC's cherry trees are the highlight of spring! The most commonly-spotted cherry tree species in NYC include kwanzan (pink and double-flowered), yoshino (tiny white flowers that smell like almonds), and okame (tiny deep pink flowers with a reddish-brown calyx that encloses the petals). This year, okame cherry trees bloomed in Central Park during the first week of March. Okame cherry trees usually start blooming earlier than the more famous Yoshino cherry trees which were first spotted in bloom at Hunter’s Point South Park last year during the second week of April; kwanzan cherry blossoms were first spotted in Washington Square Park one week later.

ニューヨーク市の桜は春のハイライトです！ニューヨーク市で最もよく見かける桜の種類は、関山桜（ピンクで八重）、吉野桜（小さくと白い花でアーモンドの香りがする）、そしてオカメ桜（小さくて深いピンクの花。花びらを包む赤茶のがくが付いている）です。
今年、セントラルパークのオカメ桜は３月の第一週に開花しました。オカメ桜は通常は吉野桜より早く開花を始めます。吉野桜はオカメ桜より有名ですが、去年ハンターズポイントサウスパークで最初に咲いたのは４月の第２週でした。関山桜がワシントンスクェアパークで咲いたのは、その１週間後でした。
