コロナウィルス感染の警戒が解けないニューヨークですが、マンハッタンの「ホームデポ」という、ホームセンターは開いています。マンハッタンにホームセンター？と少し違和感を持ちますが、全く違うのは外観です。

日本のいわゆる「のぼり旗」ではなく、ニューヨークでは、「旗」です。日本の「のぼり旗」は戦国時代の「風林火山」の名残り？中古車センターにいっぱい立っていますが、ニューヨークで見たことはありません。

白亜の宮殿のようです。入り口もこんな感じで・・・。

でも、一歩店の中に入るとほとんど日本のホームセンターです。

Home Depot will no longer sell N95 masks and instead donate all its shipments to health care workers struggling with equipment shortages during the coronavirus crisis, the corporation announced Wednesday.
「ホームデポは、もうN95マスクを売「りません。その代わりに、すべてのN95マスクをコロナウィルス感染の危機の中、備品の不足で苦労しているヘルスケア従事者へ寄贈します。」と、水曜日、同社は公表した。

In what Home Depot described as a “Stop-Sale,” the company said it’ll redistribute the high-grade face masks to U.S. hospitals, first responders and health care providers.
N95 masks are a type of personal protective equipment that can help prevent users from coming into contact with airborne particles or liquid, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
ホームデポが「ストップセール」と銘打っている取り組みの中で、高性能のフェイスマスクを病院、第一対応者、ヘルスケア従事者に配送すると述べた。アメリカ食品医薬品局によると、N95マスクは個人用保護のためのもので使用者は空中に浮遊する粒子や液体との接触を防ぐことができる。

Shortages of the masks, among other forms of PPE, have been reported during the coronavirus pandemic, and some stores have gotten backlash for selling the items to the public when health care workers are in desperate need of them.
他の個人用保護用品の中で、とりわけマスクの不足がコロナウィルスパンデミックの間、ずっと伝えられていていた。ヘルスケア従事者にマスクがひっ迫しているときに一般の人たちにマスクを売って強い反発を買ってしまった店もあった。

Last month, Target issued an apology after a photo of N95 masks being sold at a Seattle store was posted to social media.
“Today in select Seattle stores, N95 masks were available for purchase in error,” Target tweeted in response at the time. “We’re removing & donating them to the WA State Dept. of Health. We’re also reviewing inventory for additional masks to be donated. Target’s commitment to communities is unwavering & we apologize.”
先月、ターゲット（大手スーパー）は、N95マスクがシアトルの店で売っている画像がソーシャルメディアに掲載された後、謝罪を表明した。

In addition to Wednesday’s N95 announcement, Home Depot said it’s donating millions of dollars worth of other PPE and other products to health care workers and hospitals.
The company also said orders made by hospitals, first responders and health care providers would be prioritized, and that its stores will close at 6 p.m. to give additional time for sanitation. Home Depot said it will limit the number of customers allowed inside stores at the same time, as well.
水曜日のN95についての発表に加えて、ホームデポは、他の個人用保護用品と他の製品をヘルスケア従事者と病院に100万ドル分寄贈いたします、と述べた。
また、病院、第一対応者、ヘルスケア従事者による注文は優先的に受けると述べ、店内の消毒に要する時間の延長のために午後６時閉店とすることを公表した。ホームデポは店内に同時に入れる買い物客の人数を制限するとも述べた。

日本では、マスクを自分で作る動きがあちこちで広がっています。政府からのマスク２枚はまだ我が家には届いておりません。。。
