Shift to Community-Based Support コミュニティーベースのサポートへ

The Foundling discontinues its Residential Treatment program on the St. Agatha Campus, reflecting a citywide shift toward community-based support. The Foundling continues to operate 5 cottages providing top-notch care to adults with developmental disabilities.

ファウンドリングはセント・アガサ・キャンパスでの居住者支援プログラム（1977年にアガサ・ホームがファウンドリングと合体して発達障害支援を行っていた）から、コミュニティーベースの支援へとその輪を広げます。コミュニティーベースのサポートに変えていくためです。ファウンドリングは発達障害をもった成人の最高度のケアを現在行っている５つのコテージでの運営は続けます。（注はMisTyが加えました。）

Foundling Receives Accreditation 　　　認証評価を得る

The agency receives accreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA), an international, independent, not-for-profit, child- and family-service and behavioral healthcare organization which sets standards for service delivery.

「認定評価委員会（COA)」の認定を受ける。COAは、サービスの評価基準を定める国際的な独立機関の、非営利団体であり、子供と家族の支援、および行動の健全化を進める組織です。

Piloting Alternatives to Incarceration　　　　収監される前に助ける

The Foundling is the only agency selected by ACS ( Administration for Children's Services ) to pilot Blue Sky, a $4 million, two-year demonstration project with the potential to fundamentally change the manner in which the juvenile justice system operates.

ファウンドリングは「ブルースカイ」という400万ドル（約４億円）の２年間のデモンストレーションプロジェクトを行える、(ニューヨーク市の）ACSに選ばれた唯一の組織です。少年司法のあり方を根本的に変える可能性を持ったプロジェクトです。

The Foundling, with its partner, Mott Haven Academy Charter School (Haven Academy), undertakes a groundbreaking effort to create the first charter school in the nation specifically designed to meet the needs of children in the child welfare system.

ファウンドリングは、マット・ヘブンアカデミー・チャータースクール（ヘブンアカデミー）と、合衆国初の私立学校を創設する努力は革新的なものでした。児童福祉を受けている子供に足りないものを補うために特別に考えられた学校です。

The Foundling celebrates its 140th anniversary. Over those 140 years, it is estimated that over 250,000 vulnerable were helped by The Foundling and the Sisters of Charity

The Foundling’s Mother/Child program for young mothers celebrates its 40th anniversary, bringing together the incredible stories of the mothers helped by the program

ファウンドリングの、若いお母さんたちのための、母と子のプログラムが、40周年を迎えました。このプログラムによって救われたお母さんたちの素晴らしいストーリーをもたらすことができました。

長い歴史でした。みなさんは、どうお感じになりましたか？

日本でもやっと児童虐待が真剣に社会問題として取り上げられてきたようです。今まで報道されなかった、もしくは人々が関心をもたなかったのかもしれません。でも、私たちはこれからもっともっと関心をもって行くのだと思います。コミュニティーの絆が強いことは日本の強みです。行政の対応を待つばかりでなく、今こそコミュニティーの強さを発揮するときではないかと思います。
